In the ten years that we’ve been conducting readability testing, we have learned that each client is different, has different views on regulations and that the rules that EMA has set on readability testing leave quite a bit room for interpretation. That has lead some readability test providers into offering rather unorthodox ways of testing. For example we have learned that in the Eastern European countries, tests are sometimes conducted by means of a group interview.
To mention just one example. We at Knowhownow believe in the classic approach, conducting 20 one-on-one interviews with freshly recruited consumers, carefully chosen within a broad range of educational level and age. That way, we are always on the safe side. Which pays off in the long run (for both our client and us). Our interviewers are always native speakers. That way, we can provide local service including our ten years of Europe-wide experience.
